The New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC, offices of Shearman & Sterling LLP worked alongsideSalaverri Dellatorre Burgio & Wetzler Malbrán in Buenos Aires to advise the initial purchasers and placement agents. Deutsche Bank as trustee, paying agent, transfer agent and co-registrar, hired Perkins Coie LLP in New York and Tanoira Cassagne Abogados in Argentina. Banco Hipotecario issued the notes on 23 May.

It is thought Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York acted as US counsel to the issuer, but this could not be confirmed prior to publication.

The issuance forms part of an US$800 million notes programme and comes less than a week after the Argentine commercial bank used regular counsel Zang Bergel to issue notes locally worth US$33 million.
